Vision and Mission

SRDI is a government organization under the administrative control of Ministry of Agriculture. Director General is the chief executive of the institute. He is assisted by Directors, CSOs, PSOs of HQ based Wings, Divisions, Sections and Assistant Director (Admin.) for smooth functioning of the institute. The institute has two Wings, two Divisions, 9 sections including Administration, Cartography, Data Processing & Statistical and ICT Section and Publication and Record Section, 7 Divisional Offices, 33 Regional Offices, 7 Divisional Laboratories, 16 Regional Laboratories and 2 research centers. Besides these 10 Mobile Soil Testing Laboratories (MSTL) is also providing on farm soil testing facilities including balanced fertilizer recommendations to the farmers.

Objective:

SRDI aims to achieve self-sufficiency in food and ensure food security for all through appropriate Land & soil (the ultimate resource of Bangladesh) management for sustainable as well as environmentally friendly agriculture.

Mission/ Vision

  • Inventory of soils of Bangladesh and generate information for sustainable crop production through improved soil management and preservation of environment.
  • Soil conservation by managing hilly and saline soils
