Recent Activities:

  • Under the renewed survey program, through semi-detailed survey, the survey program of Gangni Upazila of Meherpur district has been completed and the collected soil samples are being sent to the laboratory.
  • The preparation of land, soil and fertilizer recommendation guide (Union Sohayika) of 10 unions of Alamdanga Upazila and 11 of Kumarkhali Upazila has been completed.
  • UpazilaNirdeshika of Damurhuda upazila of Chuadanga district are in progress.
  • The work of formulating Upazila Nirdeshika for Kushtia Sadar and Mirpur upazilas of Kushtia district and Gangni upazila of Mujibnagar district is in progress.
  • Analyzing the manure and soil samples through the laboratory and sending the results to the prospective organization.
  • Revision of post-survey land and soil map of Meherpur Sadar and Gangni Upazila of Meherpur district is in progress.
  • Regular activities are conducted during rabi and kharif 2 seasons to increase awareness about soil testing through mobile soil laboratories.
  • Research trials and farmer Field Days are conducted to determine the yield of different crops according to site-specific soil fertility standards.
  • Upazila Nirdeshika/Union Sohayika to Farmers, Extension and NGO Workers under Soil and Fertilizer Management Program through Revenue Project, Soil Sampling Procedures, Soil Contamination Identification, Balanced Fertilizer Use, Nutrient Deficiency Symptoms, Fertilizer Application Method and Timing, Organic Fertilizer Preparation Regular training is provided on methods, disadvantages of excessive fertilizer use etc.
